Unofficial fan tool, not affiliated with HoYoverse. The tool picks by chance only. It uses names, elements, rarity and weapon types as text and does not know roles, resonance or what works well together.

Genshin random team generator: ways to use it
A random team is mostly a way to break routine. If you always take the same four, the roll picks characters you may have stopped using. Roll a team, then play the next domain, a story quest or an Abyss floor with exactly those four and see what happens. Many players use a roll as a self-imposed challenge, and the randomizer simply supplies the dice.
To keep the roll within what you have, open the owned list under the filters and tick your characters, then switch on "Only characters I own". The pool counter updates straight away, so you can see how many characters are in play.
The element limit controls variety. Set it to 1 and every team has four different elements. We do not claim any rolled team is strong; the tool does not rate teams. To plan pulls for a character you rolled, try the Genshin wish probability calculator or the Primogems calculator.
Random character generator: one pick from the whole roster
Set "How many characters" to 1 and the tool becomes a random character generator. It picks one name from your pool, which is handy for choosing who to level, who to feature in a screenshot or who to build next. The filters work the same way: restrict the pool to 4-star characters to find someone you already own and have ignored, or to a single element to decide between favorites.
Because every character in the pool is equally likely, a rolled name carries no hidden weight. With the full list of 120 a single pick lands on any one character one time in 120, which is 0.8%. In a team of four, a given character appears with probability 4 in 120, which is 3.3%.

How many teams are possible
The order inside a team does not matter, so the number of teams is the number of ways to choose four from the pool. For all 120 characters that is 8,214,570. The other counts are checked against a brute-force listing in the tests.
| Rule | Possible teams |
|---|---|
| No limit, all 120 characters | 8,214,570 |
| At most 2 per element | 7,650,873 |
| All different elements | 2,934,229 |
| 5-star characters only (69) | 864,501 |
| 4-star characters only (51) | 249,900 |
Put another way, a roll with no filters gives four different elements about 35.7% of the time, and a team of only 5-stars about 10.5% of the time. Those numbers describe the pool, not your account: if you own few characters, tick only those.

What the list leaves out
The Travelers are not in the pool. Characters released after version 7.1 are not included until the list is updated. Names use the in-game form where a short form is common, for example Kaedehara Kazuha for Kazuha. If we have a name or element wrong, trust your game.
Quick answers
How does the Genshin Impact team randomizer pick a team?
It takes the characters that pass your filters, shuffles them and deals four different ones. Every character in the pool has the same chance. With no filters the pool is all 120 characters, so there are 8,214,570 possible teams.
Can I limit the team to characters I own?
Yes. Tick the characters you own in the list, then switch on "Only characters I own". The ticks are saved in this browser only, using local storage, and nothing is sent to a server. If your browser blocks local storage the tool still works, it just does not remember.
Can I roll a team with different elements?
Yes, set "Most characters per element" to 1 and every roll has four different elements. There are 2,934,229 such teams out of 8,214,570. A limit of 2 allows 7,650,873.
Does it make sure the team has a healer?
No. The tool does not know what role a character plays on your team and we do not guess. It only knows name, element, rarity and weapon type. Use it for fun, challenge runs and breaking a habit, not as a team builder.
Which version is the character list from?
The list is current to version 7.1, which came out on September 23, 2026, and was read on November 1, 2026. New characters appear in later versions, so a newer release may be missing.
Is this the official Genshin Impact tool?
No. This is an unofficial fan tool, it is not affiliated with HoYoverse and it uses no game artwork, only text.
